Welcome to the website of the Styrian Terroir and Classic Wine Estates

Styrian Terroir and Classic Wine Estates is a free association of wine estates that are active in the promotion of their region’s traditional wine-related culture. It grew out of the group “Styrian Classic Vintners” (Steirische Klassik-Winzer), which was founded in 1986 and which, in 1993, created and successfully promoted the designation “Styrian Classic” as a symbol for fresh and fruity white wines made from typical Styrian grape varieties. The new classification for terroir wines now defines the premium segment of Styrian products and can be recognized by a symbol of quality: the letters “STK” printed on a banderole on the bottle’s neck or on the label itself.

STK is the seal of quality for pronouncedly Styrian wines and is a protected brand of the wine estates Gross, Lackner-Tinnacher, Neumeister, Erich & Walter Polz, Sattlerhof, Tement and Winkler-Hermaden. This sign may only be borne by wines that adhere to the rules defined by Styrian Terroir and Classic Wine Estates.
